Instructional Phase

  • Weekly meetings (likely Sunday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM)
  • One additional weeknight per month
  • Two or three additional Saturdays

Course Overview

Class Instructional Phase

  • Practical, hands-on learning and growing
  • Discovering how to use your God-given giftings
  • Cross-cultural exposure close to home Lectures, discussions and small group interactions
  • Prayer for the nations, our missionaries and our church’s mission involvements

Topics Included

  • A condensed missions perspectives course looking at the biblical, historical, strategic, cross-cultural and partnership themes in missions
  • Strengthening your personal relationship with God
  • Building godly character
  • Relationship dynamics in missionary life
  • Team building/learning to be a team player
  • Practical issues facing missionaries

Missions Experience Phase

The course will culminate in a two to three week outreach to Brazil where we will assist Rick and Dee Bergen in their work in the Amazon. During that time we will:

  • Visit an established church planting base on the Xingu River
  • Experience the challenge of establishing a new base
  • Participate in outreach under the direction of experienced missionaries

Anticipated Outcomes from this Program

At the end of this course each participant will have a clearer perspective of their place in fulfilling the Great Commission. You will catch the missions vision of our church and it’s many involvements. Every participant will discover their areas of gifting and will find God’s direction for their service in missions.
